Free SPIRIT Riders, Inc. in Fond du Lac WI is planning an Instructor Mentor Training workshop for Thursday and Friday April 10 and 11. The fee is $300, which includes Thursday and Friday breakfast and Thursday lunch. Deadline for registration is March 1. A block of rooms has been reserved for Wednesday and Thursday evening at the Ramada Inn at 1 South Main in Fond du Lac. More information is available at info@FreeSPIRITRiders.org or 920-924-9920.
BLARNEY will be playing on Saturday March 15 from 7 to 11 PM at the Veterans Hall, 500 Fond du Lac Avenue. Tickets are $15 each or 2 for $25 in advance or $18 each or 2 for $30 at the door. Tickets are available at Scott’s Discount Printing and Free SPIRIT Riders office or by sending a check for the number of tickets desired with a self-addressed stamped envelope to FSR, P O Box 1291, Fond du Lac WI 54936-1291. We are collecting items for the Silent Auction, let us know if you have an item for that.
Free SPIRIT (Special People In Riding Therapy) Riders, Inc. is proud to have received a grant for $5000 from the Christopher and Dana Reeves Foundation. The funding is to be used to make the entrance to their restroom and waiting area wheel chair accessible.
This is beneficial to Free SPIRIT Riders and our community as Free SPIRIT Riders therapeutic horsemanship program is serving an increasing number of participants who rely on wheel chairs for mobility.
The Reeve Foundation is committed to supporting organizations that seek to improve the quality of life for people living with paralysis. They are proud to announce that they awarded over $500,000 in grants to 74 nonprofit organizations in the United States that improve opportunities, access and day-to-day quality of life for families and individuals living with disabilities. The grants, awarded twice yearly, recognize programs that enable people with disabilities to live independent and active lives.
